Personally, I think it would ruin the class. It would become a "cubic dollar class" and make it even harder to get new racers into the class. The competition is fine the way it is, and the speeds are contollable. I'm afraid that taking the motor limit away would make these open wheel cars too fast, hard to control, expensive and prone to more breakage. But, if you guys want to go that way we can always bring it to a vote of the members that run that class. Jerry

Have you thought about a "club class" Everyone runs the same motor, FDR, tires? If you want new people you need an entry level class that isn't about who has the best($$$) stuff. Not many new people are going to jump into a sprint car or edm class. Just one guys opinion!!!

I'm not sure what's prompting all the talk about making changes in this class. We have been running under the current rules for several years. In my opinion, we have had some very close and competitive racing without costing a lot, or breaking a lot of parts. I'm still in favor of leaving well enough alone. But, as I said in my last post, at the next race we should discuss this with racers that race in this class, and put it to a majority vote of the ones that are club members, . Keep in mind that some of the changes being suggested will bring about additional costs to the racers that are already set up to run under the current rules.

I was not talking just about the sprint car class I was saying the club wants new people maybe having an entry level class would be the way to do that. If you don't want new people just keep things the way they are. And only taking suggestions from "club members" is a great way to get new people involved in the sport. As I said " just my opinion"

As I said " just my opinion" Sorry BigShep, I misunderstood you. Since your post was in the string discussing the Sprint Car class I just assumed that is what you were talking about. My mistake. I agree 100% with Jeff in that we will run any class that has at least 3 cars entered. So, if there is interest in a "club class" let's talk about it. I'm all for gaining more interest in our club and having fun racing. If outlaw sprints are what the majority of the sprint class club members want, let's make the change and see what happens.
