RCMTS Presents: March Modified Madness
Some of the hottest events of the year are yet to come for the Radio Control Modified Touring Series. Four more events remain on the calendar for the exciting inaugural season, and championships still hang in the balance. However, the road to the title is going to be a challenging, yet exciting one, as those final four races are at three different speedways.
The Upper Midwest’s premier EDM RC oval racing tour makes its way back to Marshall, Minnesota’s Genesis Raceway on February 11. Then the RCMTS drivers will embark on March Modified Madness.
The RCMTS travels to Omaha, Nebraska on Saturday March 3 to try to tame the always exhilarating HobbyPlex Raceway. This will be the third ever EDM event at “the plex” and first time it will be run for points under the RCMTS banner. Chad Schettler shattered the track’s 10.5 class records during an EDM/Late Model combination event in 2009. Audie Turpitt raised the bar again in 2010 when he took wins in both the A-Modifieds (10.5) and B-Modifieds (17.5).
Those two drivers are currently dueling atop the standings for the RCMTS A-Modified Championship presented by Victory Lanes and Adrenaline Sports Bar.
The RCMTS season concludes with two more March Modified Madness events to be held in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The March 11 and March 18 races will be held in conjunction with the RC Extreme Racing Club at the Ramkota Hotel’s Exhibit Hall.
A championship celebration will be held at the Adrenaline Sports Bar following the conclusion of the racing season.
Remaining 2011 RCMTS Schedule:
February 11 – Genisis Raceway - Marshall, MN
March 3 – Hobbyplex Raceway - Omaha, NE
March 11 - Sioux Falls Ramkota / RC Extreme Club
March 18 - Sioux Falls Ramkota / RC Extreme Club
