Hey guys, just looking around at many of the local tracks and making plans to possibly visit them. Ben was telling me about the public use transponders and how they mount up.
I had thought they would be like the ones that Aspen Park uses but they are a little bigger from what I hear.
I cannot remember exactly how they mount up so can someone detail what is needed for these to work on someones car in case someone wanted to get their car ready before the race day?
Also, what style transponder is compatible with the timing system you have? I see a few different kinds and the only systems I know of are the I-Lap system from Hobbytown and the system that Aspen Park uses.
If I were to buy a personal transponder, where will it work?

The "loaner" transponders we have at the RCXteme track are the older AMB self-powered, rechargeable style. They only require a hole about the size of a body post to be put in your body and they are held in with a body clip. They are about 1" square and about 3/8" thick. They get picked up just before your heats and mains and returned after each run. We have two sets of ten and alternate them from heat to heat so there is time to pick up & return them without holding up the race schedule. The My Laps transponders (smaller and powered off the Rx like the HTUSA transponders) work well on our system as well.
Hope this helps.
