Reminder - the touring car class spec tire for this year is a SWEEP brand QTS 28 - Real Green compound. Brad at Hobbytown has agreed to sell them for the same price as you can buy them on line ($ 28.00 / set of 4). We need to get our order to Brad by Friday of this week so he can place his order. Please support your local hobby dealer and get your tire order to Brad. If you have JACO blues left from last year you can run them but they probably won't last all season, so why not order your Sweep tires now today.

Are these the same tires that we are currently using at HT? I think they were muchmore or something like those. They did have a 28 in the model number.

There are only two tires that were agreed on for this class at the meeting last week - the JACO blues that we ran last year (if you still have some because they are no longer available) - or the Sweep QTS 28 - real green. I hope we don't start getting people running other tires because that will defeat the purpose of the spec tire rule which is to make it equal for everyone and keep the costs down. The Sweep tires are only $ 28.00 for a set of four and, ruling out any breakage, they should last all season.

That's fine, but they are different than the ones that Brad has been getting for the Hobbytown track. I will have to wait for a bit as I just bought those tires and don't have the money to throw at a set of tires I most likely will only be able to use a few times due to my schedule. Got some other projects that will need the attention first. Too bad the two tracks couldn't have agreed.
Not trying to stir things up at all. Just disappointed as I had hoped to get over there a few times.

Don't let that stop you from coming out and running with us. You could still run the car - just maybe wouldn't get points? I don't think anyone at the meetings brought this up? I'm not sure anyone from our track realized Brad was selling the Muchmore tires since we were all running the JACO blues last year? Anyway, we'd like to see you at the track when you can make it.

Sounds great! I was planning to get out as much as possible and Sundays are tough for me, Saturdays too for that matter. Points don't matter to me as much as having fun racing. I look forward to getting out there!

To be clear, HTU has no tire spec for their carpet racing. A rubber tire is all that is required. I just was making a comment that he has been stocking and selling the Muchmore 28 tires. That is what many peple that run there have been running as he stocks them. There is no specific required tire there. A 28 tire is a 28 tire in my limited experience. When he starts stocking your spec tires and the muchmores wear out it will be a non issue, as long as the spec tire doesn't change. It is all good as Grumpy stated.
