So would the traxxas gymkana or new mustang fall under the 1/16 mini traxxas then?

24 feet by 60 feet. (RCX is 48 x 90)
I stopped in there on Tuesday to pick up some paint and they have some good ideas. There is a little crossover on some of the Hobby Town classes and the RCX classes.
However, if they do it correctly and can get people interested in the 18th scale Late Models and Sprint cars, it could really help boost the local racing scene. The same could be said about the idea of racing 10th scale 17.5 touring cars. I don't know much about the other classes except the recoils. RCX tried those for a short time, but the class never really got off the ground. Hopefully the additional classes don't spread the local RC enthusiasts too thin.
They use a different lap counting system. They currently have no "house" transponders. Those are purchased there for $40. By the sounds of it, their system is not compatible with an AMB system, like the system used by RCExtreme, Hobbyplex in Omaha, Tea’s in Rochester...
The track would be a bit tight, to impossible, for most of our classes, but I applaud them for their efforts and hope it works.

The track will be 60ft by 24ft. sorry didn't mean to mislead you Shawn, by bad.
I do have transponders to rent $5 you don't have to buy one but if you want to but like Shawn said $40, been using it for about 5 years and it has work good for us. The transp will plug in to the rx to power it.

Look like we had 3 good classes last week, 1/10 touring car, 1/14th recoil & carisma, and 1/16th traxxas. And it looks like these might be the most popular will have to see how it works out. Had some edm's come this weekend as well very cool but sorry guys way to fast, maybe if you could get them set up with a single cell if possible and see how that would work out. Where also going to have the track open most of the time we are open unless we have other functions going on and there will be a small fee for the use of it, it will be $2.00 an hr or $10.00 for all day just call ahead to make sure its open. the race season will also work out like this we will have 4 months in a season with some throw out races and unless it is a holiday and we are closed, there will be racing on friday at 6:00 and sunday at 1:00. But on sunday when are races start in the summer well have to change the sunday time. any questions or if i forgot something let me know thanks. brad

I watched these EDM cars run on Sunday and thought they did well. I've raced on tracks this size before and it's the same for all drivers. I would suggest using only the round markers for the oval and put a single line of the plastic down the middle. Looked like the plastic walls caused more than they were worth. JMO...

Turn #4 wall needs to be pushed back the the hardfloor. Hard to see your car rounding the turn if you need to take it wide... and to utilize the entire 24x60 racing surface. Other then that.. is pretty dialed for small scale racing!
I plan on racing there... Even purchased the infrared transponder!

Maybe you don't own what you once had. Maybe I'm just a little confused. But I'm sure the following is fact:
RC Extreme Racing classes include:
ROAD: Touring Car (17.5 motor - Rubber Tires) Trucks (no motor limit)

FYI - I was in HT today geting some parts and a guy was at the back rc counter and he asked about a few parts and then asked Brad if there was any rc clubs in the area (he was from Brookings). Brad told him about RCX and the racing at Legends. He even wrote down the address to this site so the guy could check your club out. Now with that said, I'm a guy that likes to race and bash RC cars with others that like to do the same. And I think it is great that you can go to one site (here) to find out about all the racing in the area. It's also great to be able to go to the LHS and get the same info.

How many people use the carisma cars and any idea on what other track this could be raced at?

i've got one and in stock form, i wouldn't use them on much larger of a track than HT's (24' x 60'). If you upgraded them and went brushless, you could probably run them anywhere you run 10th scale touring.

Would they keep up with the 10th scale hopped up cars while upgraded? Looking to add another car to the family. I would love to get one of these but, if the only place I could race it is here to stay competitive I dont know. Any idea on how many people race there at HT?
