RC Extreme Racing Readies For Week 2 This Saturday
The RC Extreme drivers and their lightning quick cars and trucks are ready to give it a go once again this Saturday. The 4pm start time event will be the second race of the season for RC Extreme, and promises to be just as exciting as ever.
In the opening event, a strong field of nine touring cars took to the course. When the five minute main was over, Brian Cox showed he could pilot the corners and bumps as he took the win by two laps over second place Brandon Skewes and third place Jerry Driscoll. As the carpet flattens with more events, this class promises to showcase the world-class driving skills of our local talent.
In oval action, the competition was just as exciting.
Ben Schorr debuted in the mini slider division and walked out of the building with a feature win in his pocket. However, the race was a close one as Matt Rock finished second just a half second behind the leader.
Some new names quickly climbed the boards of the short course truck standings. Dakota Feeli backed up his top qualifier efforts by taking the victory in the main. David Reisch and Patrick Mitrevics finished second and third, respectively.
Audie Turpitt was victories in the 18th scale late model class. Turpitt’s 49 laps bested the field with Brad Schelling and Ben Schorr rounding out the top three.
In the 10th scale sprint car class, Jerry Driscoll took his slider to the victory. The Damon finished in the second position one lap ahead of third place Jody Rosenboom.
The new B-modified (17.5 EDM) class proved to be a hit in the division’s first race. A full field of cars hit the oval for the main event, with Iowa’s Jody Rosenboom taking the winning honors just one lap ahead of defending 10.5 EDM champion Chad Schettler. Aaron Wiersma took his #44 to a third place finish.
And in the A-Modifieds (10.5 EDM), it was 2009-2010 class champion Chad Schettler sailing away with the win in his 66 lap effort. Rosenboon was the top qualifier and settled for second. Former 18th scale sprint car and open late model champion Brian Rubin transferred from the B-feature and took his Custom Works Intimidator SE #5R to a third place finish. 2010 Berge Johnson Memorial Champion Shawn Neisteadt won the B-feature.
This week’s event starts at 4PM, with doors opening at 3PM. Dress warm and be prepared for some high speed, super exciting, and extreme RC action.
