That should be fun. I hope its smaller than the quad and moto cross track in brandon. But guess I have seen RC cars on it though. Lol.

I cant comment on the difficulty and challenge to the guys running 1/10th Classes on it. It will be great to have another place to race especially without having to deal with the elements of mother nature! Audie
;DYou wouldn'd Dare run those Walmart cars there
Sounds like you got some extra trucks laying around I could drive, but no thanks I don't need to wreck more stuff and who knows if Radio Shack has more parts for ya, I got some that work just fine. Who care if its more than 5 bucks. Its well worth it in parts we don't wreck. Besides I would spend a lot more going to the Hobbyplex in Omaha just in gas. Speaking of money where does the money go from the Brandon track? I believe its a city owned park correct? Could I go to city hall and pay for a year pass for race days?

Wow, I cannot believe you guys. We spent over $47,000 to build the track. Four of us spent hundreds of hours that is not included in the 47. We maintain the track, cleanup after everybody. We run the races. The five bucks helps pay for the insurance, fuel, brooms, hoses and what ever else we need to put on races for you two. And to think that I was thinking of donating some cars during the season to make it fun season. Wow!! Time to keep your thoughts to your self. boys.

Nope, this forum, like all others is for voicing our thoughts.
Gil, I appreciate all you have done, I don't mean to take away from what you and Jason have done for the RC community. I cannot believe that you are only charging 5 bucks! That is awesome and kudos go out to you for keeping those costs low. I am happy to pay it, when I can get out there which unfortunately isn't enough. These are the cheapest race fees I have seen, period. How you choose to manage those fees is up to you.
It pains me to say this, it really does. I have written, rewritten, edited, etc...this many times and I don't know of any way to say this that will not make it sound nicer.
I stated in the other thread, your track just doesn't fit what the people want, it fits what you want and that will be it's downfall. Hopefully I am wrong. You cannot simply ignore the people screaming that the track is too big and isn't fun to drive on and expect it to grow and people to flock out and help. There are two hobby stores loaclly. Go and ask them how many 1/8th scale cars they have sold compared to how many 1/10th scale cars.
I cannot help but think that had Aspen Park been more open to 1/10 scale options that Falls RC Raceway wouldn't had even been considered.

I agree completely with meradin. The Brandon track is nicely built and you did things right but you didn't consider the smaller cars. I personally would rather run the 1/10th scale cars and they just don't work on that track. I also really don't care for a track that a novice racer can't make one lap on without crashing. I welcome the new track and I will help in any way I can.

Build a 1/10 scale OFF-ROAD in the center of the oval at Brandon. Thats how all the tracks use to be when I was raced OFF-ROAD. I'm sure if enough people asked and helped build it they would come to race on it. +1!!!!!! great idea.

I don't know if there are any plans for the facility yet but it would be cool if it was wheelchair accessible. My two boys and I would love to do a little off road racing. Racing at the Ramkota this last winter was a blast. Having another local place to race would be great.

Hey all. Been a while. I check this board from time to time to try and keep up with the club and any RC related news. I was really excited to see this post. I have always thought SF should have a permanent indoor rc facility for offroad racing. I see many youtube videos of indoor offroad facilities around the country and it looks like a blast to run 10th scale SC trucks and 10th scale buggies indoors. For me and my boys, RC racing isn't a priority in our budget at this point but I feel that we can get into 10th scale racing for a reasonable cost and be competitive on a budget.
I was really excited for the Brandon tracks as they were being built. I visited the tracks shortly after completion and was really turned off by the size of the offroad track. The tracks are top quality. I too aplaud those for their time, effort, and money to build these tracks. 1/8th scale buggies look awesome to race but I am not interested in the expenses that go along with 1/8th scale racing.
One time last year I was able to race a stock slash at the Hartford offroad track. I had a good time running the offroad eventhough the track was better suited for brushless 10th scale and 8th scale. I think I could really get into 10th scale racing more if there were an indoor facility with a permanent track and open practice throughout the week and throughout the year for that matter.
To whom it may concern, would you consider having an area/room for the younger kids to hang out in while others are racing or practicing. Kids can't sit still for 5 minutes and some aren't into hardcore racing yet. I don't think it is necessary to have a Play station or Xbox for them to play but just a room so they stay out of the way. A year ago at the baseball facility where the club raced, there was an area(batting cages) where the kids could play or mess around without interfering or obstructing the track. I would make the effort to race more and practice on a weekly basis if I could bring a kid or two and not have them get in the way of me and other racers. That's my only request so far. I look forward to learning more about this new indoor facility and I can't wait to find out when, where, and what this place will be like. Thanks, Matt

I second that!!!!!! Now that i have 4 kids i won't beable to leave any at home. If i had a place where 2 of my older kids could play, and stay out of the way I could come and race more often Thanks Ryan
