Throw Out Explained
Like the club, RCMTS uses a one throw out system. With ten total races on the RCMTS schedule this year, each driver’s top nine races count toward his/her point total.
Non-Perfect Attendance: If a driver does not have perfect attendance, the “adjustment” on that driver’s points will be nothing. Simply because, if that driver has missed one (or more events) that missed race is considered their throw out.
Perfect Attendance:For drivers will perfect attendance, their lowest point day of the year is thrown out.
Calculating the Throw Out and Final Point Total:
The “formula” for final points goes like this : [ overall total points – throw out points = final points ]
Using the current points in the B-Modifieds for an example, Audie Turpitt has a total of 169 points going into the final race. For the purpose of this example, let’s say he wins the season championship event to add 20 points to his total.
That brings him to 189 total points for the season. However, his lowest point day will then be subtracted. His lowest day is a 16 point event. That means his adjusted points (and final points for the year) would be 173. [189 – 16 = 173 ]
