It is with great pleasure that a new radio controlled racing tour for the upper Midwest is announced. The newly formed Radio Controlled Modified Touring Series (RCMTS) presented by Victory Lanes and Adrenaline Sports Bar will focus on advancing oval Eastern Dirt Modified (EDM) style racing in the South Dakota region, with racing spreading into Nebraska and Minnesota, and possibly other regional states.
The RCMTS series will start the 2011-2012 season with two levels of racing, a 17.5 motor/ no advanced timing electronic speed control (ESC) division known as B-modifieds, and top level utilizing 17.5 motors with open ESCs or 10.5 motors without advanced timing in the ESC.
Many of the races will be based in the Sioux Falls area, but it is the goal of this new tour to spread this style of racing to other facilities and clubs. A full schedule is in the works and should be released in the coming weeks.
Series sponsors include Victory Lanes bowling alley of Brandon, SD and Adrenaline Sports Bar of Brandon, SD. Look for a season ending celebration to he be held in conjunction with these supporters of the RCMTS. The Adrenaline Sports Bar is also working on special post-race specials for RCMTS racers following Friday and Saturday racing events.
The first RCMTS points event for both divisions will be Sunday November 13 at the Ramkota in Sioux Falls, SD.
RCMTS will focus solely on EDM style racing for the upcoming season, but may look at expanding to other oval racing classes in the years to come.
It’s a new and exciting opportunity for the extremely competitive RC enthusiasts of the region, and RCMTS is ready crank up the excitement this year.
