Congrats are in order for Audie!
Not only did he set a new record for a 10.5 oval race in Omaha by turning 68 laps in the 10.5 main, he also took the win in the 17.5 main with 60 laps (just 4 laps off the old 10.5 track record).
When it comes to oval carpet racing, RC Extreme has a lot to be proud of. Last year, Chad Schettler blew Omaha's record out of the water. This year, they didn't even want to defend their home turf against us, and one of our drivers again smoked their track record.
As for the day, I can say I had it easy compared to most of the rest of the drivers. But, I am very proud to see how everyone worked and worked on their cars to make them better. Again, Audie is a great example. In warm ups his 10.5 struggled. It still needed work after the first qualifier and by the third round he had it dialed in to TQ quality.
I had one guy tell me he sure had fun watching our cars, and even though I came home with two broke machines, I sure did have fun racing with some great people in a different location.
Hopefully we can do it again next year!

I agree that we as a club have a big bunch of great drivers in every class we run. We have several classes that are in very tight points races. All the hard work put into the cars through out our season has brought the competition close and has awarded many different winners in those classes. Everyone is always willing to help the fellow driver in a time of need. It's racing and sportsmanship like this that makes me proud to be a member of the club.
