Many good discussions were had at Wednesday night's club meeting, including our classes for the upcoming carpet season.
ROAD: Touring Car (17.5 motor - Rubber or Foam Tires TBD) Trucks (no motor limit)
OVAL: 18th scale stock late model 18th scale stock sprint car (including new Losi car) 10th scale truck (stock rubber tire) 10th scale sprint car (17.5 motor) 10th scale EMD (10.5 motor - see previous rules post)
* The club is also going to test a one cell lipo 10.5 EDM to check the speed, in hopes of starting a class to ease drivers into the current 2 cell, 10.5 EDM class. * There is also discussion to run the stadium trucks on a road course a few times. That discussion will continue with the drivers in the class, and depends on facility. Remember there is nothing keeping the current (oval) trucks from racing on the road track with that class.
* The club is also still currently searching for the best facility choice. There are a couple of options and we expect news soon on how realistic those options would be. The Moose is still an option. Once the facility is found, a schedule will come. Expect racing, possible as soon as the first weekend of November, so get those cars and trucks ready!
* The club is also in search of laminate, plastic or similar surfaces to be cut into (about) one foot wide strips. The idea is to use this to mark the inside of the oval track, with the discs to the inside of the "slippery" surface.
All-in-all we had a great meeting and look forward to one of the best seasons yet for RC Xtreme racing.

Oval: 1/10 Scale Stadium Truck? or Short Course Truck(Slash-Blitz-SC10..etc). There is a difference. Last year it was SC with rubber tires.

Ya, Should be Oval SC trucks... or Road Course SC. Which ever the guys running that course decides... Stick to one style of racing or... alternate each week.
Side note. Im not sure what the turn-around time is... But "I think" the transponders need to be sent in to have the batteries replaced. Last few races of the offroad season.. We had a few go dead... Could of been user error because of charging time.. or w/e. Just wanted to throw that out there. I will be rocking a few personal amb's this winter, but just wanted to let chris knows if he reads this.

Chris ran the system the last offroad race and knows all about the transponders and said he will get it taken care of. I know for a fact it wasn't user error in charging. They were on charger for the length of time as directed and all status led lights turned green showing full charge. Seems like a normal yearly maintenance thing with those house transponders that a few need sent in.

You are correct Audie there is a difference. Those classes are a work in progress. I think the SC trucks have an advantage on the oval and the stadium trucks have one on the road coarse. I think the Rubber tires of the SC type trucks evans them up pretty much. Don't ya think? The only thing that was talked about was that some of the SC racers would like to try the road coarse.

Question... Wouldnt you want the laminate or w/e you deicide to use for the slick spot.. to be circular cut to for the inside of the turn instead of a 1' x 10" foot strip?

My honest opinion on that class is we should allow any electric 1/10 offroad stadium or short course truck be it 2wd or 4wd so long as rubber tires and a truck body(no buggy body converted Slashes for sake of the carpet) are used. I think that would open the class up to the other racers that came out and joined us at the end of the offroad season. Trying road course sure could ad some excitement ;D

If you cut it circular, you will be limited on how you use it. If we had a perminant facility, then that would be the better option. However, since we may have to have a different sized track, just having a stip makes it more "flexible." I think we'll probably have the strips something like this: (remember we'll have the discs to the inside of the strips) / -----------\ | -----------| \ -----------/

I think if we're going to do road course with the trucks we'll have the split the class into amateur and pro divisions because there are some youngsters in that class that arean't ready for turn right and left yet.
We also currently do have a road course truck class, it just appears to me that nobody has expressed interest in that class on race day other than Will Dose.

There never has been. At the beginning of the season the club decides what classes will be run. So during that season if 1 car shows up for that class and wants the track time we will give it to them probably depending on time. Anything different then that is on case by case or if the entire club wants a change.

Me and my friends would definatly like to get a road course up and going so if you guys could do that that would be greatly appriciated! I know this class isnt realy suitible for the younger drivers so we could do the Pro and Amateur divisons as Shawn suggested, i also think there would be enough people for this class. Please resond back. -Thanks

i am the guy with the green backslash slash 4x4 buggy. i would love it if you could put me and my friends in the pro class to give the kids have fun without us getting in the way. why is the rule that i cant run my buggy?? i covered up everything the owner told me to and he said it would be fine. so i cant race this saturdy b/c i have a buggy thats fully modded for race? but i would love it if me with the green buggy and my friend with the black and red buggy and my other friend with the vxl rustler could move to a pro truck class. i think this is very fun to do but i may no longer continue if my car isnt welcomed. thanks please respond!

A pro class would be handy for a few reason 1. The youngsters could be in a diffrent class and could compete with others around the same age 2. There would be more oprtunities for racing

Who said that you can't race your Slash converted buggy? The only stipulation that I knew of was that the shock towers had to be covered up with lexan or similair to prevent tearing the carpet during a roll over. If that's done then there shouldn't be a problem. If you want to run road course with the trucks I don't see why not.
